The Council of Tenerife has organised the 'First Conference on Tenerife Landscapes: Location and Landscape Opportunities in Tenerife'. There will be talks by some of the country's leading experts in landscapes. Registration is open until the 12th of February.

The objective of this event is to promote interest in landscapes amongst the people of Tenerife, as well as create a space for social agents involved in the protection, management and planning of landscapes to meet, reflect and exchange ideas and experiences. The conference also seeks to serve as a tool to contribute to the enhancing of skills of those who work in and are responsible for land planning, through hands-on training and presentations of notable achievements.

Throughout the conference there will be theoretical talks on the concept and legal framework of issues regarding landscapes, as well as matters of social management and experiences on the island, amongst other topics. There will also be two hands-on sessions where workshop leaders provide guidance on landscape integration. Furthermore, there will be a round the table led by social agents involved in the protection of landscapes and an exhibition of posters covering initiatives implemented by different entities in the field of landscape protection.

This conference is principally aimed at landscape professionals, both from government agencies and private entities, who directly or indirectly work in land and landscape planning and management, such as staff from Municipal Land Management Offices, project managers, land planners, to name just a few.
